About

As an active freelancing artist for 15 years, Anna is an established and prominent choreographer based in Stockholm and Malmö, while she also works internationally. Anna has a foundation in dance and performance with an education from the Stockholm University of the Arts as well as international studies at the Broadway Dance Center, Movement research and Peridance in New York. Her artistic practice often meets a contemporary nerve, at the intersection between technology and dance, and moves between different contexts, forms of movement language and dance cultures.

As a choreographer or dancer, her work has been seen on stages such as Sadler's Wells London, Det Kongelige Teater Copenhagen, Malmö Stadsteater, Opera National de Paris or Oscarsteatern, Dansens Hus and Avici Arena in Stockholm to name a few. In summer 2024, her and Ongoing Realities latest work [ e s c ] will be shown during Kulturfestivalen, at Kungsträdgården/Strömgatan, on August 15. The exhibition runs all week during the festival, August 14-18 at Kungsträdgården. More information about the performance and exhibition here.

Anna combines her artistic background with a BA degree in social anthropology and she has worked with larger performance productions, international tours, and multimedia productions, often at the intersection between dance, innovation and technology in the choreographer duo Ongoing Realities (OR) for which she is also the artistic director together with colleague Johan Bandholtz. She also does project management, mentorship programs for young dancers and community-organisation development. Her commitment and experiences within various projects and contexts drive her to constantly develop and create a versatile, urgent and responsive danceart for the times.
