"Technology and artistic creation" workshops
Ongoing Realities offer workshops, courses and consulting in working with different types of technologies in collaboration with artistic work and performing arts. During the spring of 2023, we have several courses and workshops, including in collaboration with the organizations Intercult, Smart coop and Transit.
How can technologies such as VR, Motion Capture and animation be used in creative, artistic or interdisciplinary projects? We discuss this together with the participants at the workshops/courses we hold. With both historical and contemporary examples, we reflect on the technology's possibilities and limitations, test VR, and with guidance and feedback, the participants get to formulate their own ideas with the technology as a co-player.
In addition to bachelor's studies in dance and performance art, Anna Näsström has also studied social anthropology and political science at Stockholm University. She has over a decade long background in teaching internationally/nationally and works as a mentor to young dancers at different educations and communities. She also has produced events, balls and training for community-based activities in Stockholm and Malmö, among places.
Johan Bandholtz has a background in psychology, a master's degree in gender politics alongside his bachelor's degree in art. Among other things, he has lectured at the Nobel Prize Museum and has been invited to various panels and discussions due to his broad background and knowledge in dance and academia.
Quote from participant at the OR course / workshops:
"The course was both inspiring and thought-provoking. The fact that you are so articulate and pleasant is also a huge plus!”
"Sparked many exciting thoughts and discussions. Feeling full of ideas on how I can integrate and explore XR technology in my artistry”
Quote from booker Agnes Török, Transit Kulturinkubator
"With their knowledge, their width and their unique approach in using technology as part of the artistic process as well as the finished product, Ongoing Realities provided important perspectives and tips. Anna and Johan were educative, inspiring, prepared and communicative - professionals to work with and a joy for our participants."

Mixed Reality & Live Arts Lab
Anna and Johan from Ongoing Realities was invited to participate in a paneltalk and pitching session during this years Fringe Festival where the Mixed Reality & live arts lab was a full day of guests, invites and audience interested in the intersections of these themes.
Paneldiscussion:
Technology always seeks the solutions to a problem, while art is constantly asking new questions. We invite you as a performer, you as a developer of technology and you who already are somewhere in between to meet up, show and talk about what happens when the performing arts meet digital technologies. What has been done? What do we want to do? What is possible? What would we like to avoid?
This event is produced in collaboration betweeen Arena STOFF, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and WOMU.
In june Anna and Johan were invited to Scenkonstbiennalen 2022 in Västerås for a paneldiscussion on "New work for a new reality?" organised by ArenaSTOFF.

A great experience in leading projects and producing has been creating spaces for communitybased activity, balls, trainingsessions, clubs and festivalevents. Something I cherish, keep learning from and now mainly work to make room for.
One of my projects is "The Future is..." ball, a normcreative, critical and unapologetic space for the ballroom scene and lgbtqi+ community. Hosted 2017-2019 together with Malmö Stad & Malmö Festivalen. First years together with fellow Ballroomsister Bianca Traum, and earlier during the years we created together with P*fect. During the "The Future is..." ball weekend workshops, paneltalks and clubs are presented with internationally known guests; legends and icons within the Ballroom scene such as Vjuan Allure, Sinia Ebony, Javier Ninja, Alex Mugler, Jack Mizrahi to name a few. "The Future is..." also appeared as a clubconcept at Hus 7, in collaboration with Danscentrum Sthlm and Dansmässan 2019.
In the summer of 2020 we both were invited to participate in the "Raucous reflectory" 1 & 3, discussing creative cooperations and reliance on technology amongst other things. Thank you all again for interesting conversations and thank you and for Skövde Högskola and Art museum in Skövde for the nomination! Raucous on the reflectories: "With the pandemic heralding the dawn of what is fast becoming the Zoom age of interaction, what does this scramble to the digital mean for international collaboration between artists and technologists?" For the Reflectories we are working with colleague organisations who have each nominated artists to participate in the discussion. These organisations are: Soulpepper Theatre, Toronto. Theatre Passe Muraille, Toronto. Banff Centre of Creativity & the Arts, Banff. Bristol Old Vic, Bristol Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. University of Skövde, Skövde. Folkteatern (People's Theatre), Gothenburg. Arts Museum, Skövde. www.raucous.org.uk
