Anna Näsström is an established choreographer and dancer based in Malmö while she also works in Stockholm or inter/nationally. She has a foundation in dance and performance with an education from the Stockholm University of the Arts and studies in New York. Her artistic practice takes place at the meeting point between technology and dance and moves between different contexts, movement languages and dance cultures.
As a choreographer or dancer, her work has been seen on stages such as Malmö Stadsteater, Dansens Hus Stockholm, Det Kongelige Teater Copenhagen or Sadler's Wells in London in performance productions, international tours, musicals and/or multimedia productions. She is also the artistic director of the choreographer duo Ongoing Realities (OR) together with colleague Johan Bandholtz, who create at the intersection between dance, innovation and digital technology.
During 2025 the work "You can make me hole again" will be further developed together with Beck Heiberg at Dansehallerne in Copenhagen and Warehouse9 in Vanlöse with a premiere in 2026. Ongoing Realities (OR) has an upcoming premiere this year for a digital work, moving mapping graphics together with A EYE, a new media duo from Lithuania.
In addition, she is involved in mentoring programs for young dancers and community development and Anna also has a BA degree in social anthropology. Her commitment and experiences within various projects and contexts create a versatile and keen dance art in tune with the times.
